The Early Days

Julius Winter had many different jobs and multiple titles before he found his passion and his life’s work — creating pianos.

It wasn’t until the age of 41, in 1897, that he took over a piano house in New Orleans and age 44 when he bought his own piano company. He went on to build a massive piano empire, Winter and Company, in New York City. [1]

I’m inspired by the early days that led to the fruition of his assignment. The wandering and the waiting, while he tried to find his place. Little did he know all of the endurance and character that was gained in those days would be so valuable when the Great Depression hit. Not only to him, but to the community he served.

A man or woman of little patience and weakness may have folded under the pressure, but Julius endured and created a brilliant new piano that people could afford and would fit into their smaller homes.

Listen, today’s faithfulness is important. And it’s also doable if you’re seeking the Lord. Though it may not seem like it in our hustlin’ and bustlin’ world, you will wait, in some capacity, for what God has created you to do. If you are being obedient to the will and heart of God.

So hold tight and be encouraged by Julius. A place is coming for you and your waiting truly matters.
